I extend my sincere gratitude to our exceptional team at SEARCH, led by our highly committed and enthusiastic senior management. Their tireless dedication has been especially vital during the recent challenging times for the development and humanitarian sectors. In the wake of profound global shifts, including the unprecedented pandemic and the subsequent adjustment to a ‘new normal,’ SEARCH has remained steadfast in its mission. We actively educate communities on the paramount importance of education, particularly for girls, and passionately advocate for increased government investment in education, including vocational skills. Our efforts also champion every child’s access to fundamental rights and drive impactful Behavioral Change Communication (BCC) programs. Furthermore, SEARCH leverages various platforms to empower children and communities with accurate information regarding child rights and how to access them. Recognizing the escalating impact of climate change on children’s rights, especially their access to education, SEARCH has proactively expanded its vision to encompass crucial environmental initiatives. We have launched ‘Climate Ambassadors’ programs, promote efficient water usage, champion environmental protection, and conduct robust climate change awareness campaigns. These campaigns empower individuals and communities to mitigate environmental impacts through self-initiated, small-scale actions and integrate WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) activities across all our education and child rights projects. SEARCH proudly unites children and communities, irrespective of their religion, caste, or culture, fostering their active participation in a unified call to action to safeguard our planet. We are resolutely committed to continuing our consistent efforts to enhance the quality of life for children and communities across Pakistan, steadfastly pursuing our mission to reach and serve the most vulnerable populations. As Frederick Douglass so eloquently stated, ‘It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men.’ This powerful truth serves as our guiding principle.
