CSP PROJECT

More than one thousand primary schools are locked in district Tharparkar. During his visit of Tharparkar provincial education minster of Sindh Pir Mazhar-ul-haq asked SEF to re-open at least 25 schools in this district. SEARCH in collaboration with (SEF) Sindh Education Foundation re-opened the 2 primary schools in Taluka Nagarparkar whereas 05 in Taulka Chhachhro of District Tharparkar. In the initial step the base line survey was conducted of more than 60 schools, and at last 25 schools were finalized and verified by RSU (Reforming Support Unit). Those schools were come under baselines which were closed since many years. Villagers had not access of education without very few students almost majority of the students were passing their childhood in future destructive activities especially female had not any provision. Child labor was frequent thus many children were also trapped in carpet looms. As this project was for only 06 months but after the having achieved the results the project period could be extended. As the female education ratio is very poor in district Tharparkar, so 20 schools were of female and 05 of male. 41 primary teachers including 20 female and 21 male, had been appointed for 1500 students of these 25 schools. During his visit Speaker of Sindh Assembly Nisar Ahmed Khurro distributed the offer orders to appointed teachers. The syllabus prescribed by Sindh Text Book Board, stationary and schools bags were provided to all students of these schools. The teachers had been trained new teaching methodologies and techniques including (CRM), Time Management, and Mentoring Method etc. SEARCH, SEF and education officer of Education Department visited and monitored these schools.

As the teachers were of the same village so attendance was very sound of both students as well as teachers respectively. It was one of the successful models. But owing to natural disaster (flood) that engulfed, indeed it was a limelight turn which turned all to work in such effected areas thus project could not be capable to continue. But undoubtedly it added to support the district literacy rate, qualitative model; attention of the villagers, EFA and MDG exercises respectively.
